Title: Second Language Acquisition and the Younger Learner
Authors: Philp, Jenefer
Keywords: Younger Learner
Issue Date: 2008
Publisher: John Benjamins
Description: Research on second language acquisition (SLA) by children and adults is characterized by many different subfields and perspectives, both cognitive and social in orientation. Although children feature as participants in this research, it is relatively rare to find reviews or overviews of SLA that deal specifically with child SLA although there are a few important exceptions (early work by McLaughlin 1984, 1985; Vihman & McLaughlin 1982; Wode 1981 and more recent work by Foster-Cohen 1999 and Paradis 2007).
