Title: Archaeology
Authors: Kevin, Greene
Keywords: Archaeology
Issue Date: 1995
Publisher: Routledge
Description: The content of this book includes aspects of the subject that I have always found interesting, supplemented by issues raised by Adult Education students when I first began teaching in higher education. I remain grateful for the intellectual stimulation that I gained from these students on a variety of courses in Hexham, Ponteland, Rothbury, Wallsend and Newcastle upon Tyne. The book also reflects the content of a first-year lecture course, ‘Introduction to Archaeology’, that I have taught in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne since 1978. It is taken by many students who wish to include archaeology in a broader Arts and Science degree, in addition to those specializing in Single Honours Archaeology. Other students follow the course as a subsidiary part of degrees such as History, Geography, Psychology or Music. The book has been influenced by what I felt this mix of students might usefully learn about archaeology. I appreciate their many comments (positive and negative) over the years
