dc.descriptionTo begin with, the present study, like other political sociological studies, can be viewed from a power perspective. The perspective of seeing power as all-encompassing allows us to re-conceive both domination and resistance as possessing their respective influence over the other side in the relationship between farmers and the state’s officials. Indeed, from Foucault’s (1980) point of view, the investigation of any kind of power should be carried out at the micro level and at the margins between it and other forms of power; only then can we truly understand how power is realised-
