dc.descriptionExtensive works have been undertaken on the study of ancient Egypt from anthropological and archeological perspectives. Some of these works include the writing system (hieroglyphics), art, architecture, sculpture, models, pyramids, temples, and tombs, mummification, and the daily lives of Egyptians. A large body of literature focuses on religion. Even though Serge Sauneron (1960) and others recognized that to understand ancient Egypt, it was necessary to understand other African cultures; no studies have been conducted on the aesthetics of ancient Egypt from an Afrocentric perspective.-
