Ethiopia adopted public health approach for the decentralization of the HIV care and ART services across the cormtry. This approach envisages the use of simplified and decentralized systems that can maximize the role of primary health care and community-led care. For the programs that aim to decentralize the HIV care and ART services, public health approach necessitates using standardized and simplified treatment guidelines that can realistically be administered by less trained professional health care workers and nonprofessional community members. Furthermore, ensuring the quality of care across all levels of the health care delivery system requires an on-going capacity building of the health care workers through well designed clinical mentorship scheme.en_US
