It seems that the date, when a manuscript is ready for print, is not always the moment, when the author is convinced that no further improvements will become necessary. This experience overcame the author in 2008, when the manuscript of the first edition was sent to the publishing house. However, as no author can be sure of the success of the first edition, he can also not be sure that the publisher will ever encourage a second edition. As a consequence, the present author decided to publish several additional papers in refereed journals in the hope that people would find them. Fortunately, Springer decided meanwhile to ask the author in 2014 for a second edition. A desirable solution of the problem seemed imminent. However, because of the high age of the author he tried to find support for the preparation of a second edition (an electronic version). Unfortunately, misunderstandings caused a considerable delay. Finally, the daughter of the author (a physicist) came to his help. He also should mention his long-standing cooperator Dr. Ewa Ratajski for her renewed assistance in the required experiments and the Austrian Science Foundation for further financial support.en
