Title: Building Ideas An Introduction to Architectural Theory
Authors: A Hale, Jonathan
Keywords: An Introduction to Architectural Theory
Issue Date: 2000
Publisher: Copyright
Description: This book grew out of a seminar course I was lucky enough to teach at Drexel University, Philadelphia, in the summer of 1996. I must initially thank Paul Hirshom for the opportunity to try out some of this material, as well as a lively group of students for their input and interest in the course. The research for the book began at the University of Pennsylvania, under the somewhat formidable guidance of Joseph Rykwert, Marco Frascari and David Leatherbarrow who together managed to open up a rich historical background to many of the debates in contemporary architecture.
