It is difficult to record and analyse the results from research and technological policy. It is well known that the adoption and diffusion of new technologies affect structure and competitiveness of the whole economy. The choice of technology depends upon a good number of factors. It depends upon the availability of technologies, the availability of information to the decision maker, the availability of resources, the availability of technology itself and its ability to be successfully adopted in order to accommodate the particular needs and objectives.
