Title: Spirituality and Social Work Selected Canadian Readings
Authors: John, Coates
Keywords: Social service--Canada--Religious aspects
Issue Date: 2007
Publisher: Canadian Scholars
Description: The study of spirituality in the social sciences, by clinicians and researchers, has been increasing since the early 1980s when scholars began to pursue an understanding of the multi-dimensional factors consistent with spirituality and religiosity, and identifi ed that these factors have a strong infl uence on individuals (Egbert, Mickley, & Coeling, 2004; Smith, 2001; Zinnbauer, Pargament, & Sco , 1999). Recent literature supports this relationship between spirituality and social science academic pursuit.
