Title: Ceramic Materials Science and Engineering
Authors: Barry Carter, C.
Keywords: Ceramic Materials
Issue Date: 2013
Publisher: Springer Science+Business Media New York
Description: As in the first edition, the subject matter is grouped into seven major parts, as listed in the table of contents, but this new edition includes a chapter on the applications of ceramics in clean energy technology, including oxide fuel cells, lithium-ion batteries, ultra-capacitors, and ceramics as catalysts. It also has an expanded chapter on the role of ceramics in industry. The other notable change is that many of the diagrams and illustrations are now in color, adding vividness to the text and further emphasizing the important role they play in communicating the ideas and descriptions in the text. The only drawback of this second edition is that, like the original, it is rather heavy to carry around, so I look forward to the iPad edition!
