dc.description | Th e contributions of this book are selected outcomes from an international group of young scientists researching in the fi eld of sustainable mobility in metropolitan regions. Th e scientists belong to the mobil.LAB Doctoral Research Group “Sustainable Mobility in the Metropolitan Region of Munich”, co-funded by the HansBöckler-Stift ung (HBS) and hosted at Technische Universität München (TUM) in its fi rst phase from 2011 to 2015. Th e research is based on individual case studies from the metropolitan region of Munich. Th e studies focus on diff erent aspects of sustainable mobility from diff erent disciplines, at diff erent spatial scales, using diff erent methods. Th ey contain on-the-ground solutions and ways of improving the process and transition to sustainability. Each of the contributions includes multiple insights of theoretical knowledge, methods used to assess sustainable mobility, the way how to study and how to conceptualize sustainable development. However, the scope of the chapters diff ers according to the state of the research. | - |
