Mary Ellen Capek and Molly Mead’s book gives us a way to understand where we are today and what can be ahead if we want to make far greater progress for women and men who believe greater gender sensitivity and equity are desirable. They envision the effort and outcome in broad terms that encompass the many diversities that exist in modern organizations. They focus on institutions and offer an analytic framework, practical steps we can take, and examples from pioneering people and organizations. This is an exceptionally helpful contribution for which we salute Women & Philanthropy. It draws on the W. K. Kellogg Foundation’s funding of a cluster of grantees and the Kellogg Foundation’s leadership in this area, which is rare and commendable.-
