Description:	The title of this volume, “Place/No-Place in Urban Asian Religiosity,” and the conference that was its genesis signal a reconsideration of religiosity as a major component of today’s rapid urbanization. The conference focused on everyday religious activities—most particularly on what happens in the spaces created by new or changing religious organizations that ranged in scope from neighborhood -based to consciously global. The organizers asked participants to consider “how distinct and blurred, open and bounded, communities generate and participate in diverse teachings and practices as they deliberately engage, or disengage , with physical landscapes/cityscapes.”
